How to check Betano's Czech licence yourself in the Ministry of Finance list

If you live in the Czech Republic but do not read Czech, checking a casino's licence can look harder than it is. The Ministry of Finance publishes a list of legal gambling operators, usually called the Whitelist, and finding Betano in it takes a few minutes. This guide walks you through the file, the names to search for and the dates worth noting.

What the Whitelist is

The Czech Ministry of Finance (Ministerstvo financí, MF ČR) keeps a public overview of the companies allowed to run gambling in the country. For online games, the list also names the website on which each operator may offer them. In everyday use people call it the Whitelist, and it is the most direct way to find out whether an online casino is operating legally.

A casino's own statement is a starting point, not proof. Betano.cz says on its pages that Kaizen holds an MF ČR licence and that playing there is legal. Any website can publish a sentence like that, though, so the useful step is to compare it with the official list. If the operator and the domain match what the Ministry publishes, the claim holds.

Step by step

  1. Go to the Ministry website. Type mf.gov.cz into your browser yourself rather than following a link from an email or an advert. Look for the section on gambling and the overview of operators.
  2. Download the current file. The overview is published as an XLSX spreadsheet, and the file name contains the date it is valid for. Always take the newest one.
  3. Search for the operator. Open the file and search for part of the name, for example "KAIZEN". Betano's operator is listed as KAIZEN GAMING CZ LIMITED.
  4. Check the domain. Make sure the website listed next to the operator is exactly betano.cz and not a similar address with a different ending or an extra character.
  5. Write down the dates. Note the date the file is valid for and the day you checked it. Next time you will know at a glance whether your information is still current.

What the list showed for Betano

In the overview valid as of 23 July 2026, checked on 12 October 2026, KAIZEN GAMING CZ LIMITED appeared as a legal operator for the website betano.cz. The newer overview, valid as of 1 October 2026 and checked on 25 October 2026, lists the operator as well. Lists change over time, so treat this as the situation on the day of the check and repeat the search yourself before you register.

Czech terms you will meet

Even if you use the English version of a casino site, some official wording stays in Czech. These are the phrases most worth recognising:

CzechMeaningWhy it matters
Přehled provozovatelůOverview of operatorsThe Ministry list you are checking
Ministerstvo financí varuje: Účastí na hazardní hře může vzniknout závislost. The Ministry of Finance warns: taking part in gambling can lead to addiction.A mandatory warning on licensed sites
Registr vyloučených osob (RVO)Register of excluded personsUsed for self-exclusion from gambling
Potvrzení věkuAge confirmationPlay is allowed only from 18, and betano.cz asks you to confirm your age

What the list does not tell you

A Whitelist entry confirms that an operator may legally offer gambling in the Czech Republic. It says nothing about current bonuses, how long withdrawals take or which games are in the lobby right now. Those details have to be checked on betano.cz itself, ideally in the rules of a specific promotion or in your account settings.

Some players also look operators up in the Czech business register, ARES. It is worth knowing that a search on 25 October 2026 did not find KAIZEN GAMING CZ LIMITED in ARES, which is why this site does not state a registered address or company number. For the question of whether an operator may offer gambling in the country, the Ministry's permission, reflected in the Whitelist, is what counts.

If you cannot find the operator

  • Make sure you are searching the newest version of the file and that you typed the name correctly. A short search term such as "KAIZEN" or "betano" is enough.
  • Compare the address in your browser with the one in the list. A different ending or an extra letter is a warning sign.
  • If a website is missing from the list, do not deposit money there and do not share personal details.
  • The Ministry also publishes a list of unauthorised online games. An address that appears there has no permission to operate.

For other signs that a site is not what it claims to be, read Warning signs of an unlicensed casino site. How this website checks the information it publishes is described on the About page, and the limits worth setting before a first deposit are covered under Responsible gambling.
